Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Wall & Floor Tiling

nvq qualification

What is an NVQ?

An NVQ qualification in tiling is a work based assessment and not a training course, it is an assessment of your skills and not tuition based learning programs, UK Pro Tiling Training run fast track tiling training courses giving you all the skills needed to become a tiler and prepares you well for this assessment.

Some training centres will claim to offer tiling NVQ courses to new students, but this is misleading as to gain an NVQ you can only be assessed on the job and not in a training environment unless you are already an experienced tiler with over 5 years provable history which you can do through the EWPA route (Experienced Workers Practical Assessment).

Should I take an NVQ in tiling?

In the UK domestic market, there are no set qualifications required for becoming a tiler, and our courses will teach you all you need to know about tiling for a living. However, many people choose to take the NVQ after our 13-day Ultimate Tiling Course as it can provide solid proof of your skills. If you plan to look for a tiling job on a building site then taking the NVQ assessment would be required along with a CSCS card, if you are looking at domestic work as a self employed tiler then nothing is required. Just complete our course then set up as a tiler.

The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Wall and Floor Tiling qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work as a wall and floor tiler within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units
- Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
- Conforming to Productive Working Practises in the Workplace
- Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
- Preparing Backgrounds to Receive Wall and/or Floor Tiling in the Workplace

Within this occupational area we offer other qualifications with a similar name:
NVQ’s:
- Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Wall and Floor Tiling
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Heritage Skills (Construction) - Wall and Floor Tiling
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wall and Floor Tiling

These NVQ qualifications request the learner to demonstrate, in a real workplace environment, that you are competent against a set of performance statements. You are assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you through your programme of learning.

Training Qualifications:

- Entry Level 3 Award in Wall or Floor Tiling

- Level 1 Certificate in Wall and Floor Tiling
- Level 1 Diploma in Wall and Floor Tiling
- Level 2 Diploma in Wall and Floor Tiling
- Level 3 Diploma in Wall and Floor Tiling

These qualifications have been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work in a particular area in the construction industry or progress to further training.
