Training Course Aims: Abrasive Wheels
Abrasive wheels training is a legal requirement under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98). Therefore meaning that is it compulsory for those who operate abrasive and grinding wheel equipment in the workplace. By attending our abrasive wheels training course, will provide learners the necessary guidance and precautions required when utilising abrasive wheels on site.
The aim and purpose of our abrasive wheels training is to give delegates the basic knowledge and skills required to safely mount and select wheels and cutting discs to the standard recognised by the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme). Rest assured that you will be trained and tested thoroughly by CITB accredited instructors provided by Berkshire and Hampshire's leading training course provider CITP.
Our high quality training courses can take place either at our Berkshire (Silver Birches Yard) venue or on your very own construction site. Upon successful completion of this Abrasive Wheels training course, candidates will be issued with an official NPORS Card, which is valid for 5 years.
Abrasive Wheels Training: Course Objectives
On successful completion of the Abrasive Wheels training course, the candidate will be able to:
- Select and mount safely the correct type of disc or wheel for the task to be carried out.
- Fully understand their relevant plant equipment and abrasive wheels duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

How will I be taught by the instructors at CITP?
This highly interactive practical and classroom-based abrasive wheels training course concludes with practical assessment and theory tests, demonstrating the candidate's full understanding of the abrasive wheels training course.
How long does the abrasive wheels training course last?
Our abrasive wheels training course lasts for a day. Rest assured all Theory and Practical training elements will be covered in this time.
